It’s the Best Time to Play Sports

November 28, 2008

A warning has been disseminated lately with regards to the ongoing political situation of Thailand.  Everybody is advised to stay at home and be safe.  But for some reasons me and my friends braved the streets of Bangkok and found it safer than the usual.  How is that possible? Since most preferred to stay home, the roads are less congested during rush hours.

Traveling from Pathumthani to Tiwanon Road is estimated to take 1 hour on normal days.  We were amazed that in less than an hour we arrived at the TSR sports complex and found two of hubby’s tennis buddies June and Jens waiting for us.  I don’t know if I’d be thankful or not but it’s one big advantage I guess when there is an ongoing rally.  I may say that it’s the best time to play sports. There was no traffic at all and less players at the court too.

I did not join any of the game.  I took the chance to snap photos for them.  While there I noticed the new apparels of other players.  Some say good quality clothes goes with comfort.  Which is absolutely true.  That is why sports enthusiasts, specially the professionals make sure that they wear proper attire to ensure their good performance in the court.  Sometimes wrong choice of fabrics causes uncomfortable feelings to the players.  One good example of sports apparell which uses good fabrics could be found in NFL Merchandise.  Football fans and players love their uniforms and masks.

A Little Bit of Chaos

November 26, 2008

News have spread across countries of how chaotic Thailand is right now.  But not much on our tiny community here in AIT.  We haven’t received any travel advisory yet from the head of the institute and it’s crippling my current work status as me and my colleagues are organizing a workshop in the coming days. Ah! This situation gives me a big headache.  I pray that the event will be pushed through, and of course for peace and unity of the Thai nationals.

What I’m really concerned of are my prior preparations, the accommodation, travel, food and a lot more.   An extension of work puts a heavy burden on my schedule as I would be heading home soon.  I scheduled to settle everything a week before my departure. It seems that my goal is kind of overstretched to the limits by now.  So I decided to turn over the responsibility to someone else to ensure the continuity of workflow. Today I am blessed to find Kuya Abet as my savior.  A super early Christmas blessing for me.  Thank you Lord!

At Watch

November 24, 2008

People are frantic of what’s going to happen in the next few days.  Buses loaded with people in yellow shirts carrying their favorite signage which is the big posters of the King paraded the streets heading straight to the main districts of Bangkok.

This anti-government rallies have affected the economy in one or another.  Dollar may be at its weakest and so as the Thai Baht.  Few months before the value of 1 US dollar is 32 Baht.  Within a few weeks it is forcasted to rise into 36 Baht per 1 US Dollar.  This gives a good signal for non-immigrants who sends money to their own countries but less likely fair to businesses.

Aries Won for Project Runway Philippines

November 21, 2008

Whose your bet? Mine was Philip.  Aries comes second and Veejay last.  Unexpectedly, Aries did a gorgeous design which is designer wise really fits to be given the best award.

I had a chat with my good friend Nicky over YM earlier and discussed some points during the finale of Project Runway Philippines.  Overall, the show was great and designs were pretty distinct from each other.  But what catched my attention was the trio of Aries.  He had this alien looking models paraded the runway then suddenly one girl came out with a 60s look and two other girls followed at her back.

A PlayStation 3 for Christmas

November 17, 2008

Breaking the tradition of gift giving on Christmas is quite rare.  Yet this economic turmoil that had affected many people around the world would somehow limit people’s pruchasing power to splurge for the coming season.  One great way to minimize unnecessary expenditures is by determining ahead of time what gifts does your loved ones expects. Like for example a PS3 or a PlayStation 3 for your son and an Acer Aspire One for your daughter.  In this way you’re not only sure that it will not be rejected but useful for their own needs.

I got a litte interested with this new technology called PlayStation 3 and it’s quite surprising to know that it uses this Blu-Ray technology to run the games.  Which allows you to play blu-ray movie discs on your high definition TV.  This new gadget also boasts that its graphics will blow you away.  It’s slim and short enough to blend into your home entertainment equipment, without standing out. A free thriving online community for multiplayer gaming can be found on the Sony website which means you’ll get a chance to test your skills from different PS3 enthusiasts around the world.

Be sure to research first the things that you want to buy for Christmas.  There might be alot of accessory gadgets that is required to run high-tech equipments.  Shop wisely.
