Sailing Under a Clear Blue Sky

Summer heat is back as early as January here in Thailand. A good news to backpackers, divers and island hoppers who are waiting for this time of the year. With sound adventure one can only wish for a longer vacation and less distraction.

I remember my youth in the Philippines were always on an ultimate tan every summer time. I used to go with my friends in a nearby island called Punta Buri. Normally it takes an hour and a half travel to cross the open sea on a bangka (sailboat). It’s best to go there during the month of May with clear blue skies and calm waters. A breathtaking sight of the island welcomes us as we approach to dock. I had so much fun and lasting memory of that place. Wishing to be back there sometime to have a reunion.

In every travel we always ask our guardian angels to be at our side to guard and guide us onto the right direction. In Greece the sailors often implores the help of St. Nikolas in the same way. Who later became popularly reinvented in pop culture as Santa Claus for the very reason that he was reputed to have the love for secret gift giving. I got this information from Chelo.

I’ll give it a thought to visit Nisyros Island riding on greek ferries in my dreams. I saw an impressive list of the major Greek Ports from fastasticgreece.com. I have checked how informative ferry greece was and booking greece ferry tickets for newbies online is so easy to follow.

It is such a delight to travel by sea specially when you always carry with you Bonamine. Kidding aside, that would only be applicable to seasick people like me.
