Art Lover

September 29, 2007

Art from Answers.com is the conscious production or arrangement of sounds, forms, movements, colors, or other elements in a manner that affects the sense of beauty, specifically the production of it in a graphic or plastic medium.  For me art keeps my spirit alive.  Based from the works of the famous painters, musicians and designers it makes ones effort eternal.

This December I'm spending my Christmas here in Thailand.  No chance to go home nor spend duty free holiday somewhere in the beautiful island of Krabi. If  my fairy god mother would grant me 3 wishes, perhaps I'll choose to visit the House of An Art Lover in Glasgow, Art Centre of Edinburgh and London. I'd like to experience the English hospitality or slice of western culture by visting Britain.

I know it's far from reality.  But who knows luck is on my side and win a roundtrip ticket from Bangkok-UK-Bangkok.  Stay at some fancy London hotels, Ediburgh hotels and Glasgow hotels in just a week.  Oh, that would be so much fun.

I am not alone

Is the beautiful message I received from today’s outreach activity.  I’m privileged to have participated this year’s AIT Catholic Community’s mission in St. Claire’s Hospice, Lamlukka. A place where AIDS patients spends their last stage.

We arrived at exaclty 9:00 AM. Unload our bags and met Brother Paulo, a Franciscan missionary from Brazil, who gave us the assignments of the things he wants to be done. We spent the whole day cleaning the surroundings by sweeping the dead leaves, painting the lamp posts, painting the rooms of the patients, fellowship and seranading the patients with Christian & Christmas songs.

It’s my fourth time to join this activity. And everytime I see my sick brethren, they inspire me to keep coming back. To cheer them up and show them that they are not alone because the Lord is always with them. The simple pleasures I get our of serving other people is more than the fulfillment I get from my job in the office.

Insure Your Home and Earn with It

September 28, 2007

It’s a crazy idea, one might say. One could even ask of a question; How can you insure your home and earn with it? The idea of having co-operative is a well known and widely accepted concept. But it’s the first time I’ve heard about co-operative insurance services with home insurance.

This set up makes the customers of co-operative insurance service earn through dividends. I like this particular system because home owners while enjoying the insurance benefits also earns with it. Highly recommend for those who need house insurance and that are willing to help fellow customers.

Customers in this case are empowered to have a say in ethical policy developments. Consequently they are shaping the co-operative insurance. This is the best part of it, everyone is given ownership of the whole co-operative.

Maximize Shopping Time

Chatting with big sis makes me feel lucky that I’m here in Thailand.  Fresh infos are putting  the puzzle together of what have become the pros and cons in Finland.  A vast archipelago in Europe, free education, windy (by this time) so one has to use a car even for a short distance walk, expensive commodities (i.e. food, dry goods, toys), few English labels on products are some of it.

The more we discussed, the more she became aware of the huge price difference, and decided we do the shopping for her.  Last night, on an ordinary Thursday, we dashed off to Future Park knowing it was the right time to shop. Few days left before payday.  Obviously few people would be around.  Carrying out a long list of shopping achuchu; (toy cars, robots and stuff toy for R-jed ), (slippers and stuff toy for Anzel), (slippers and Ferminpan yeast for Ate Cookie), (FIFA 2008, PS2 8MB Memory and cellphone holder for R-vin), lastly groceries for a month consumption for me and hubby.

Looking at the list was unimaginable with 2 hours remaining. I pause to process the tasks to be done.  Pre-processing helps me maximize my shopping time accordingly.  Here’s what I did.

1. Arriving at 6:30 PM. Ate dinner first before shopping.
2. Proceed to 3rd floor of robinsons. Look for gift items and toys at kids section. Lighter objects comes first.
3. Proceed to 4th floor and bought the PS2 accessories.
4. Go back to basement. With 20 minutes remaining, divide the grocery list with hubby to gather and meet at the counter.

The checklist really helps alot.  It saves time and money for unnecessary expenditures.

Proper care and storage for wines

September 27, 2007

My multiply buddy Patricia went to the Carrefour International Wine Fair in Suntec City Mall, Singapore last week. She bought different samples of wine from distinct regions like  Australian Riesling, Pinot Noir from Burgundy, and the Petalo Il Vino Dell’amore Moscato from Italy. And noticed that some people had a shopping trolley full of bottles. For sure they must have wine cellars in their flats at that number.

The last time I bought a wine was 9th  of September this month. It was a present to our photo instructor Mr. Jonathan Taylor, the day after our free workshop. I chose Cabernet Sauvignon. A grape native to the Bordeaux region of France. This type of tough-skinned grape produces dark, dry wines with lots of tannin which require considerable ageing.

the-vine-storeIf I were to have my own house.  I’d make sure that I’d create a space for a couple of wine bottles reserved for special occasions.  This bentwood wine rack [photo on the left] would perfectly fit on a mini bar type of setting in the kitchen.  The humidity of the storage area is important  so it’s possible that this rack could be encased on the wall with constant temperature of 13 degrees C. It’s best position should always be lying down with their labels uppermost, and always in contact with cork to prevent from drying out and spoiling. Beautiful racks like this could be found in The Vine Store.  Wine is a living substance and like most living things it responds well to right care and sickens from neglect. So it’s proper to ensure its monetary and health value all along.

UK’s Manchester Online Community Guide

Many people go places to search for better opportunities in life. Some even just fly straight to a certain place without preparing for anything. This kind of people have the guts and adrenalin for real adventure. Upon arrival that’s the time they scout for a flat to stay, a car to rent and even seek partime jobs.

I should say that, it’s a little bit risky but there is another way of doing it. How about taking a look first on the internet on what’s happening around places you go. For example if you would like to go to the United Kingdom (UK) they have free community classified service. In Manchester, Gumtree is popular for this community service of posting info about accommodations on flat/house share, flat/house rents, stuff and cars for sale, community events/activities and more. One could even have contacts for companionship like friends if you need one. You could also find Jobs in Manchester while enjoying your stay or travel around.

One could post free adds and even subscribe to the community newsletter for free. It’s interesting that you’ll be up to date of all the aspects of the community. You’re actually in a virtual world with Gumtree. I could say, surf and visit Manchester wisely. If you go places, do check the free community services online. It could spell a lot of difference.

Digital View Finder

September 25, 2007

I decided to create a separate site for my interests on photography, editing tools, softwares, and travels in Digital View Finder. Life is too short, let’s preserve it by capturing evey details of it! I would gladly appreciate if you could leave a line or two on my other site.  Thanks!

DVF is designed to feature my interest for travel and great love for photography as I journey from amateur to *fingers crossed* semi-pro. I always have an itchy feet for traveling. And for me photography is simply the candidness of the things we see around and how to contain its beauty, emotion and story behind every picture. May you find this site worthy of your time. Enjoy seeing the images.

Lovely Christmas Collectible Decorations

Every year we look forward to Christmas Day. A time for family gathering with lots of fun and food. There is also this early dawn mass practiced by most Filipinos in preparation for the coming of Christ. Usually after mass various local delicacies are served for fellowship and others sold outside the church’s gates.

As the days are drawing near. Neighborhoods are busy decorating their houses with some flashing and twinkling lights outside. More so on the interior, Christmas trees are embellished with colorful stars, balls, angels and tinsels. A mini stable is prepared with the Holy Child Jesus, Joseph and Mary together with the shepherds, animals, angels and the three (3) kings who came to adore him. There’s also an advent wreath and a mistletoe on the doorsteps. Everybody makes sure that all of the decorations are displayed just to remind us of the Christmas spirit.

As the countdown begins more and more people are rushing to the nearest malls. Shopping for the ornaments needed takes a lot of time going from one shop to another. Finding the right theme that blends with our house interior even at times takes days.

I think if you really need to do some serious shopping, the best place to go without spending too much hassle will be the online stores. I’ll start shopping as early as possible to have our decors ready on time. Plus to avoid Christmas rush. Unique Christmas Decorations and Christmas Home Decor Ideas are not difficult to find.

One place to have a wide selection of exclusive and unique Christmas decorations is at www.collectiblestoday.com. I am amazed of the variety of collectible decorations they have. From Tabletop Christmas Trees, Christmas Villages, Christmas Wreaths, Christmas Ornaments and much more. I like most Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer Christmas Town Village Collection which lights up the houses of the village. Having this on the living room as a center piece would attract our visitors attention. This will surely fascinate the kids and adults alike. Indeed it’s worth collecting and keeping those treasures at home.

Though the spirit of Christmas is always in our hearts; this external beauty enhances the spirit.  Adding to have a touch of life’s simple pleasures.

Birthday Wish

This coming October, a new chapter of my life is unfolding. When asked about age, in vernacular people would always say, "dali na lng ko madula sa kalendaryo." Or my age will not be reflected in the calendar soon.  To compromise, I will remain 25 forever =), in thoughts of course. Young at heart so to speak.

KIVA

Now it’s my time to return the favors of having blessed abundantly by the Lord for the whole year.  My wish is just simple.  That I may be able to contribute some amount to the diligent entrepreneurs or to our brethren in need of small business capital in KIVA.  I accidentally watched the Australian channel in my sis-in -law’s house sometime July.  They were featuring the program about the beneficiaries of the loan done through internet. Their stories have moved me. And I salute the supporters of this organization.

Just a quick background, Kiva is a transparent lending platform which connects lenders and borrowers around the world mostly from developing countries.  It’s based on honesty policy, which means you lend money with no interest and no money back guarantee. But amazingly, almost all borrowers have fully paid their loans. The payment doesn’t really matter.  However, the lessons learned by both sides from this experience is incredibly remarkable.

How does it work?
Step 1: Choose a business
Step 2: Make a loan
Step 3: Receive journals and payments
Step 4: Withdraw or re-loan

 Further explanation on this site.

Highly Readable

September 24, 2007

I feel like clicking the ‘Add Cart’ button as I browse Booksonboard site to see their list of bestsellers.  However, I have to hold the keys before I loose control over shopping online.  I find it informative to read the summaries of "The Unusual Suspect" by Stephen Baldwin and "When You Need a Lift: But Don’t Want to Eat Chocolate, Pay a Shrink, or Drink a Bottle of Gin" by Joy Behar. They’re now included on my wish list for Santa, and not to forget "The Digital Photographer’s Notebook" by Kevin Ames.

Digital Ebooks are emerging and rapidly changing the trend of book technology this days.  The latest ones are designed to be listened to as audio books. I highly recommend them to busy individuals like me.  Listening is pretty convenient while relaxing before bedtime. Visit Booksonboard or BOB for the latest features on Audio Books.

For Export

Whew! Shopping could be a good form of exercise sometimes.  After work we headed to Zeer and Carrefour to shop for items to be shipped tomorrow.  Big sis Cookie rants about brandless rice cookers being sold in Finland at a high price.  Ordinary shirts cost around 7 euros or 455 baht each. Whereas here in Thailand, Sharp rice cooker with the capacity of 1.1 liter costs 499 baht and shirts prices are from 59 to 200 baht only.

In a Chinese mindset, "when there’s scarcity, there’s opportunity." Oh, I’m tempted to make a proposal for dry goods export.  Let’s see.

A Need for Motivation

I’m a person who likes to be motivated by people, inspiration or experience even if I know I’m capable of doing things on my own. Back when I was in elementary I experienced having a personal tutor for a week.  After that I received a bad news that my tutor was leaving for abroad.  I felt sad of loosing someone to turn to for my assignment problems. My mom didn’t have much time for me because of her business and my dad had to be away from us to make a living. Hence, I could have reached my full potential if I had a good mentor during my formative years.

If you think your kids are suffering from attention deficiency in school works, try Club Z! Tutoring Services. They provide one-on-one tutoring programs for Science, English, Music Lessons, Speech Therapy, Foreign Language and even Algebra Tutoring. Help your kids improve their grades, promote productive study skills and enhance their academic self-confidence.

Simple Pleasures of Beautiful Address Labels

September 23, 2007

I have friends who left to Australia for good. After living for seven (7) years in Thailand they accumulated a lot of things in their house. During the day of their departure they have a total of eight (8) big travel bags with them. They paid a huge amount for excess baggage which cost them around 200$ or like 6,500 Baht.

My husband accompanied them to the airport and he seem to notice that it’s difficult to identify their bags among others. You know travel bags tend to look similar in appearance and color.

Address labels are pretty useful in identifying ones belonging as it keeps you alert every time you notice the sign. Printed address labels sticking or hanged on them would be helpful. If you plan to travel soon it’s necessary you secure such cheap address labels from VistaPrint. These labels have elegant and beautiful designs to choose from. When I was working in a desktop publishing way back year 2001, I used to do the same items. But now that I don’t have much time to spare in designing, printing, laminating and purchasing other additional materials, I think it would be wise to have it done by an online printing service. Plus the price is just enough for an address label.  It’s only 0.057$ or 1.8 Baht per piece. What’s more I could have a personalized design like having an address label with my favorite photo on the background.

I think this address labels would fit for my tennis bag, guitar, keyboard, camera, laptop and books. Order it from the experts; have it done by VistaPrint. For sure my stuff would look perfect with flash of those cute and beautiful address labels. Obviously one of my simple pleasures.

Happiness

How to Find Happiness
by Helen Steiner Rice

Happiness is something you create in your mind,
Not something you search for but can’t seem to find,
Not something that’s purchased with silver or gold,
Not something that force can capture and hold.
It’s just waking up and beginning each day
By counting your blessings and kneeling to pray.
It’s giving up thoughts that breed discontent
And accepting what comes as a gift heaven-sent.
It’s giving up wishing for things you have not
And making the best of whatever you’ve got.
It’s knowing that life is determined and planned
And God holds the world in the palm of His hand.
And it’s by completing what God gives you to do
That you find contentment and happiness, too.

Forget About Messy Tracking of Parts Inventory

September 22, 2007

I wasn’t been able to work in a manufacturing environment but I have a little bit of idea how it is through my Tony. He worked in a Dry Cell Manufacturing firm which have equipments that run on 2 shifts/day, 6 days a week and sometimes more during the peak season. My hubby was working there as a Maintenance Supervisor and he relates that there are more than thousands of spare parts to be inventoried. This is needed for emergency downtimes and for daily and weekly maintenance.

They have this Small Value (SV) stores which stocks all parts of the different power equipments. It’s actually a misleading name to call their stock room since the value of the items there are irrelevant. They have small items there which costs up to even several hundred thousands. But anyway that’s how they call it SV stores.

When there are parts to be replaced, one need to remove it sometimes and bring it to the SV stores as a sample. Due to the numerous parts it takes time for the stores keeper to find it. It’s somehow difficult to track parts of various machines without the aid of a computer. You need to be familiar with all the parts and that means working there for years which is really impossible to memorize.

An inventory tracking software would be a great help. One of the softwares that I know will be of great help is Commander Software. They have this Electronic Parts Catalogs (EPC) also known as Electronic Microfiche. The part images can now be viewed by the store keepers right on the computer screen. You could know more about it on HLSM’s online.

This kind of software will increase both efficiency and accuracy. If you are into manufacturing environment and is in the same delima consider purchasing a software and forget about your inventory head aches.

Wise Investment for Filipinos

The thought of having to save on my own country hadn’t hit me until a sudden problem arises.   Pag-ibig Overseas Program has been a big help for me and my husband in realizing our dreams sooner.  I hope to convey this message to those Filipinos working abroad and even locally to check out the Pag-ibig Fund website and learn more about the programs. Our country has a lot to offer; we’re just too lazy to tap its resources or rather ignorant about our governments good programs.

pag-ibig-fund2

Allow me to persuade you a little, my husband became a member around 1997.  He actively contributed for 26 months then it came to a halt.  Forward to now, year 2007, after ten years the little amount he invested was tripled! Imagine, things could have been far more better if he contributed consistently.

With this I decided to join the bandwagon this month.  I paid the lump sum contribution for 2 years so I too can avail of the loan benefits.  Monthly contribution is as low as 200 pesos a month.  Not bad at all. And the big catch is, the interest rates for loans of more than 1 M have been dropped to 11.5%.  Before it was 17% per annum.

I challenge you to act now.  The sooner the better.

time to shop for a new laptop

My hubby normally tinkers on computer software/hardware. Trying all sort of things. About two (2) weeks ago he was frantic dropping by at my office bringing the laptop with him. He told me about his need to back up the files for he knew that when it’s turned off he’ll not be able to retrieve his data. Being careful not to power down the laptop he looked for a spare external hard drive to store the data.

Sometimes the things you fear most just comes. Well the popular Windows blue screen of death (BSD) just hit his laptop. He was uneasy and does not really know what to do next. The following day he sent it to the service center. We’re lucky that the laptop was still on it’s last month of the warranty period. It’s good to know that the center informed that they will change the hard drive and the DVD drive. It seems to be a good idea bringing it there but up to now we still don’t have it back.

We start looking for some cheap laptops as replacement. I remember my cousin in US who uses Dell and is satisfied with its durability. Since, I am pretty much into quality and price I recommend to him considering laptops sale by Dell.

He haven’t decided yet on which one to buy but I know he’s looking for the same small, light & portable model with 12" screen. He finds it convenient to bring around while traveling. For sure he will find what he needs there.

Description:
Ruby, my cousin, is a professional cook and baker. She has made her fortune out of her creativity and skills. I came to learn how to bake chiffon cake through her when I was in third year high school.  Until now I still seek assistance from her concerning baking problems.

I’ve been planning to revive my old hobby since we transfered to our new home.  As I have now a bigger working space to mess around.  I asked some recipes from my cousin lately and she willingly texted it to me. I was laughing during my first attempt as she neglected to send me the instructions.   Last night with 50% confidence, after encountering a major error, I volunteered to bring a chocolate cake for the farewell party.  Thank goodness, they like it.

Australia the Land of Dreams

I’m excited for my friends who are bound to Australia this month.  Roque is going ahead of his wife Cherryl to check out the place and look for good shelter to stay there.  Last night we celebrated a farewell party for both of them.  We expressed our wishes and blessings as they go to their land of dreams.

wallaby_pam

I asked a couple of questions to know how well they have made their research about this beautiful country. Initially my only knowledge about Australia is that it is famous for Koalas, Kangaroos and my favorite Christian artists Hillsong music. I hope to see them live on stage. From now on, I’m noting it as one of my goals to look forward to.

One must be adventurous enough to explore its diverse culture and unique environment. In the future I wish to experience as slice of life in this three big cities.  Of how it is to bask in the Sunshine State of Brisbane and see its attractions. opera houseTake a closer look at the opera house in Sydney, watch Australian Open, see their lifestyle and stroll along Glebe Point Road with my hubby.  Lastly, go down south east to visit my friends in the city of Melbourne, Victoria. To find Nemo and check out their chic boutiques, buzzing cafés and immaculate festivals.

As early as now, I’m checking out the hotels in Brisbane, hotels in Sydney and hotels in Melbourne and include them on my budget list.   Not pretty sure if it’s affordable or not. Well in my thorough search I found the answer from cheaperthanhotels.com.au. Blimey cheap!

In anticipation

Last night we had a baby shower and farewell party for our dear friends Cherryl and Roque Alea.  They are going home to the Philippines to be with their family in a while, then be traveling straight to Victoria, Australia in the coming days.

By the time we arrived, the party didn’t started yet.  So I managed to prepare the chocolate cake that I brought in the table.  I personally baked the cake two hours before the celebration.  I was quite hesitant to bring it because it didn’t turn out perfectly than I expected.  But after dinner I’m so glad that almost all of them commended my labor of love. My kumareng She-ann even suggested that I should start taking orders. Nahhh…I’d rather do blogging than baking. Perhaps, that would be a good alternative though if my ADSL starts acting.

We had fun during the party, first the mothers were called out to share their experiences.  Followed by the wishes of soon-to-be moms&dads and singles.  Steve rendered a song for the couple entitled "The Warrior is a Child." Next we had a pray over and a hearty dinner with a little guessing game to close the celebration. It was a great night for everybody; simple and memorable.

Staying Legal Is Like Staying Alive

September 20, 2007

From MSN Encarta Online Dictionary [Ex·pa·tri·ate] (n): means somebody who has moved abroad; a citizen who has left his or her own country to live in another, usually for a prolonged period.

In Philippines there has been an overwhelming debate about ‘bigotry, socioeconomic background and humor’ issues concerning Malu Fernandez.  I rest that case for the public to decide.  Whether it’s denigrating our kababayans or plainly acerbic wits of the author?

What hits me most is the fact that I too am an Overseas Filipino Worker, I share the sentiments of the majority as I read the issue.  OFW or better called as Filipino Expats as suggested by Dave Llorito had tremendously transformed the economy of our country, not to mention the difference it had brought to the whole world. Surely it is one good reason to be proud of.

Staying legal is another sad issue. Not all Pinoy expats are lucky to go abroad legally.  In Thailand, many Filipinos work here without working permit.  Either their employers could not comply with the requirements or it isn’t part of the contract.   They remain tourist for years, and in order to maintain that status you have to exit several borders like Aranyaprathet- Cambodia, Baan Laem, Mukdahan- Laos, Penang Malaysia and another in Burma.

In US, legality is more threatening compared here Thailand.  Proper documents are necessary for security purposes. As we see in the news, domestic violence is happening almost everyday. If you happened to be in this kind of situation it is best to seek assistance from Los Angeles Criminal Defense Attorneys | California DUI Lawyers | Criminal & DUI Law Specialists. Kestenbaum Eisner & Gorin LLP has been rated a Top 5% U.S. Law Firm with more than 50 years of legal experience. Their firms are available 24/7 for an Immediate Confidential Consultation.

dealing with drug addicts and alcoholics

I enjoy living in a very secure and peaceful place inside the campus of AIT, in Thailand. I never have experienced any problem with my neighbor. I hear, now and then, from our parish priest living in the slums of Bangkok the reality of lives broken due to drug addiction. Family relationship and communities were affected. There are even sometimes deadly encounters when law enforcers try to catch the alleged drug pushers and traffickers. Those were the times when the government was having "brutal measures" against drug traffickers. Human rights were sometimes violated as Human Rights Watch reports of alleged extra judicial executions.

It’s really a sad fact seeing the drug users being treated like criminals. Though they may at times cause trouble or commit crimes, they are still human beings like us and they deserve a second chance.

That’s why I believe in programs to help bring back to the society those who have been victims of drug and alcohol addiction. Since it includes both medical and psychological treatment, addressing the issue of drug or alcohol addiction is a complex matter. One person who would like to live a normal life would find it hard on his or her own to recover from this malady. Professional help is really needed.

There are companies that offer drug treatment programs for men and women suffering from the disease of alcoholism or drug addiction. In the United States one of such companies that I know of is The Watershed Treatment Center.

I think it’s a great help to the society wherein one could find a right place to be understood and treated humanely of this disease instead of being labeled as a criminal. If you know of a loved one having this problem, help them reclaim their lives. I could say that when a patient undergoes this healing process it could be one of those life’s simple pleasures.

Cyclops girl

September 18, 2007

maniniyot Brace yourself =) It’s a day of celebration! Nikky has turned a month old today.  I felt giddy and shaky as I get hold of Nikky last August 18, 2007.  As I stroke the angles of its face and features. Never felt happy this way before.  One of the best thing that happened to me is having this camera. Maybe this is how it feels to have a baby of my own too. =) In God’s time!

Better Home

It has been 5 months since we transfered to our new married unit in staff house #3.  A better place to call my home.  We’re me and hubby seeks comfort and peace after a day’s work.

Lately, we have acquired new appliances from my family who just left the country. I just realized that I need to make up some spaces for it or have some home improvement so as our humble abode would look presentable to unexpected guests.  I’m planning to add up some embellishments on our bookshelf and UPVC windows.

I really dream of putting up a conservatory to be used for tea parties or a healthier place for my plants. But that would only be possible if I’m staying on the first floor.   I got this idea from Anglian, a well renowned home developer amongst homeowners in UK. They have fantastic designs of conservatories to choose from. In architecture, it’s a glazed structure attached to the house.  Most often it serves as a greenhouse where plants are properly protected and displayed.

reflection

Reflection

Who is that girl I see
Staring straight
Back at me?
Why is my reflection someone
I don’t know?
Somehow I cannot hide
Who I am
Though I’ve tried
When will my reflection show
Who I am inside?
When will my reflection show
Who I am inside

The Siroy Project, assignment # 2
Theme: Clouds
Title: Reflection
Location:  outside AIT extension building.

I was thinking of going to the beach to take photos for the second assignment.
Problem is, the nearest beach will take more than 3 hours of travel.
I’m blessed, God’s hand is at work, He showed me this pretty canvass after I ate lunch yesterday.
As I went out from this building, I strolled on that bridge and saw the reflections on the water.

Stucked on the Net

The internet have become a great source of information. One can easily find the information needed by using a browser. Accessing information has never been as convenient as it is today.

Finding it is one thing but the information needs to be presented in such a way that it’s appetizing to the eyes. By just looking unto it one would be glued immediately. What I am talking about are those sites that are interactive and very user focused. The information is delivered in such a manner that is palatable and is accessible.

Take a look on Florida web development website. Upon visiting the site, one is warmly welcomed by a person sharing on the various stuff one will find on the site. For me the site is cool as it’s very interactive. I like the colors too and the way the layout was done. This is an example of what a great eye catcher site. By just looking unto it one will surely be captivated.

Well this kind of site is not done by one person alone. A team of professionals in their own field worked together to create such a wonderful functional website. Getting the information is not boring in this case. If you need some professional web designer you could contact  Florida web development for some help. They are responsible for creating the site I just mentioned. They have web development, web application, CD & DVD development, motion graphic, print material design and more. Due to their product/service excellence, the company garnered 44 Addy Awards.

I think it is worth investing if you are planning to be ahead of the competition. Get the right professionals to do your web development or presentation needs. For my Tony I am a professional too. :) Hehehehehe.

Flickr an excellent photoblog tool

September 13, 2007

I’m inspired to share yesterday’s experience with my photo club classmates in multiply.com.  It was about displaying a bigger photo on a blog post. Normally,  in multiply or here in i.ph, pictures are resized into a standard size based from the site’s template.  Another way to display attractive photos inside a blog page is through the use of Flickr. I got this idea from Ate Carey when she came here to Thailand last June. Below you’ll find the steps on how to do some simple copy paste formula to get a perfect result on your pictures. Be sure to open an account first at http://flickr.com using yahoo ID before starting over.

1. download photos on FLICKR
2. click the photo that you’ve just downloaded
3. find >>All sizes
4. choose either medium or large
5. copy the html code below
6. go back to your blogpage
7. click >>Edit HTML or HTML
8. paste the code from flickr
9. switch back to normal window
and it will display a bigger size of photo

if my instructions aren’t clear…bug me =)
